[Personal Review] Mr. Queen

[Personal Review] Mr. Queen

Everyone young!! It's nice to be back (sort of). It's been almost a year since I've posted anything and when I saw this drama I thought it would be a good opportunity to go back to rewatching but oh my god I was so wrong it's just another regular drama I can handle. So the story... I have seen clips of this drama on my facebook feed and I usually watch it when I have time or it sounds interesting enough, the day after day five me and my sister decided to watch it and the rest is history. , can be. I'm actually rewatching it as I write this comment, and that's saying something. Laugh.

Actor: Please forgive me for falling in love with your main character here and starting watching School 2017 and can't get enough of her. This actress is great in this role and I don't know how to emphasize that. I think I first saw it in "It Was Beautiful" and then "Legends of the Blue Sea." I have also seen parts of his other plays, but this is all I remember. Now this character is not your average character as [ SPOILER ] he basically plays two characters in one body. So Yoon is a very mean queen, and then combine that with the very snobbish and arrogant celebrity chef Jang Bong Hwan, and you get this beautiful queen who acts like she can do anything and everything. So much fun to watch, tbh. Kim Jung-hyun as Lee Won Bam / King Jeonjeong ; A word of warning, this can be a bit over the top. This is the first time I've seen him act (besides watching the occasional clips from School 2017 and Waikiki) and I have to say he's grown on me and I'm really in love with him after about 3 episodes. I've been watching clips of her live IG sessions for a few days now, and I've seen her cover art and more. Also, I mean come on, this guy can sing!! Her voice is amazing! (I'll talk about that later) It's all about experience, but I think it's really helpful to have a strong vocal range to play King because most of their lines are commands and mostly yelling. Seriously, I think he could do justice to the role. I've read about King Cheoljong and how he's portrayed in the books and stuff and I like how they keep the character but make him more than what he says. It's interesting to watch ❤

Story: To be honest, the story is a bit hard to explain without too many spoilers, so a little warning for those who don't want spoilers. [ Spoiler Alert ] So the story focuses on Jang Bong Hwan, the chef of the Blue House (the presidential residence), which is fine, but oh my god, he's an ass and has a huge ego. But when he encounters this time warp (and more), his life changes.

The story was new to me. It's like a combination of time warp and gender role reversal, which is cool and confusing at the same time. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it because it was new, but in the end I was a little confused as to who really enjoyed it (King). Despite the usual power struggle theme found in action dramas, this is a funny story.

Combination : You have to justify my bigotry. I really gave it everything I had

Jeon and Seo Young ( Kim Jong Hyun and Shin Hye Sung) - Good. I have to calm the F down when talking about these two. They are so cute on and off camera. Above all, their chemistry is amazing and they really compliment each other, especially when they have feelings for the queen. He went from doing nothing to her to killing anyone who touched her, even their hair. It's also funny how one day he realizes that he really is in love with her. I don't want to spoil too much and I don't think there's any need to laugh out loud.

Their off-screen relationship is also great. (I did a lot of research on this) I think Hye Sung invited Jung Hyun to coffee or something with the help of the writer or director (? Not sure who?) so you can meet him and get to know him a little better. ken , I think it helped when I started filming. Jonghyun also said in his interview that he accepted the project because of Hyosung... Isn't it cute??

They had such good chemistry that they could work with improvisation and stuff like that. Don't even get me started talking about their IG Live because this post will be too long. I highly recommend watching and commenting. Both are very sweet

Royal chef Man Bok and court lady Choi ( Kim In Won and Cha Jung Hwa ) are the sweetest and purest couple. I love how they take their frustrations and turn them into something sweet and beautiful. [ Spoiler alert ] There's a scene in the bamboo forest where they're screaming in frustration, and it kind of became a story.

Their relationship off screen is also great and I think they are in the same company so they know each other.

OST : I don't usually add OST reviews to these things, but since it's been at my house for about a week, I had to. (Lol) I think there are some songs that I have listened to more than once, but the whole album is great. It was my addiction. I won't go into detail about each one, but oh my god, this is a beautiful OST 🙂
Like a Star (별들 에다) by Onestar.
Like the First Snow (첫눈 예니) - Kim Jong Hyun (Choljeon!!!)
Puzzle - SoyouPark Woo-jin (AB6IX)

My Thoughts : This drama gave me a drunken headache that I couldn't shake. I give it a 4.99/5 because the ending was a bit low, but I'll give it a 5 because they gave us extra videos and more. It was a funny drama that made me laugh, cry and make me giddy. To be honest, I still watch some clips I come across while scrolling through social media or in the near future (according to Cheoljong). What makes her special is that she's beautiful off camera, and I think that came across on screen because she was so much fun and they're all beautiful and I'm obsessed with most of them.

Say hello to Baby Youngjae!! I'm so glad to see him in a drama, it's a shame he didn't sing on the soundtrack, and let's not forget Na In Woo (Byung In) who is now Dal. I am very happy to meet new actors in every drama I watch. This review is quite long but I hope you will watch this drama. It's all worth it.

If you've watched it, let me know what your favorite scenes are. If not, I hope you enjoy watching ^^ v
